Project Overview: Promoting Mission Bay as a San Diego Destination
Daniel Travers handled tourism video production in collaboration with iHeartMedia for Discover Mission Bay.
Jesse Lozano, an on-air personality from San Diego radio station Star 94.1, hosted the video. It highlighted vacation and staycation experiences, including jet skiing, paddleboarding, waterfront dining, and stays at one of six waterfront hotels.
Distributed on social media, the destination marketing video brought together accommodations, water sports, and waterfront dining to encourage viewers to explore Mission Bay and plan a visit. The original promotion also featured the code “discover” for 25% off.
Gloomy weather on the filming day created challenges for capturing the sunny atmosphere associated with a San Diego getaway. The edit incorporated photography supplied by Discover Mission Bay alongside on-location footage of Jesse. Those images helped showcase local attractions and visitor experiences beyond what could be filmed during the shoot.
Combining a local radio personality, location footage, and client-provided photography gave the social media video a guided format while highlighting several reasons to visit.
