Promo videos are a great way to get the attention of your audience when created and executed properly. At iHeartRadio San Diego, my tasks include being a videographer, video editing and post production. These skills help assist in the marketing of the radio stations through social media and television.
Each promo video project is always unique and I almost always encounter challenges I haven’t had before. Sometimes, that’s what makes it interesting! My roles usually include shooting the video, post production, motion graphics and occasionally directing and audio imaging. Having a team of talented professionals always helps too. The tools I use are all from the Adobe Creative Cloud: Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Audition.
Here’s just a few examples of my promo video skills for marketing below.
‘Welcome Home DSC’ Wizard of Oz Spoof
This promo video was used to help promote the return of the DSC radio morning show on San Diego’s Classic Rock Radio Station 101KGB. Our Director of Marketing thought of the concept and I helped manifest the vision with my video and production knowledge. We utilized a green screen for the opening shots and the audio at the end was provided by our amazing audio imaging team.
San Diego Padres ‘Mexican Heritage Weekend’ with Geena The Latina of Channel 93.3
Shot on a green screen, the on-air morning show talent helped promote special events planned by the Padres marketing team. The completed promo video was then distributed on Facebook targeting specific demographics.
JAM’N 95.7 with Pro Wrestler Rey Mysterio
Professional wrestler Rey Mysterio came to the radio station to promote a charity event on-air he was having in San Diego. Rey has a HUGE following and we thought it would help bring more attention to his event by creating this video skit. We published the video on the JAM’N 95.7 website next to information about the upcoming fundraiser. Our Director of Marketing thought of the idea and I helped bring it to life.
