While working at iHeartMedia in San Diego, California, I created these augmented reality filters that can be used on either Instagram or Facebook.

Social media filters are a great way to promote an event you may be having or even just your brand in general. It’s a way for followers to interact, have some fun and potentially go viral. They usually lean towards a younger demographic, but can still be exciting for everyone.

Below are some examples.

Top 40 Radio Station: Channel 93.3 (KHTS-FM)

The filter was created to be used at a St Patrick’s Day annual event called ShamROCK and also to help promote the new morning show.

The concept was to have something fun that listeners could interact with. The station would repost them to their social media if participants used a specified hashtag and it was also to be used at an annual event the station is involved with.

You will need to be on a mobile device with a camera and have Instagram installed to use it. Try it here.

Hip Hop and R&B Radio Station: JAM’N 95.7 (KSSX-FM)

The filter was created to help promote the new morning show.

This was the first one I ever did and the “Who will you meet?” or “What are you?” answer concept was really popular prior to us posting.

You will need to be on a mobile device with a camera and have Instagram installed to use it. Try it here.

San Diego’s Rock Station: Rock 105.3 (KIOZ-FM)

The filter was created to be used at annual St Patrick’s Day event Kegs and Eggs with the morning show.

The idea was that you were inside of a green juice (beer) and it was created to be used at an event.

You will need to be on a mobile device with a camera and have Instagram installed to use it. Try it here.

These were some of the first filters I did and there are so many more cool things you can do with them!

They were created using a program called Spark AR which is made my Facebook.
