Here's some samples of my adventures with art made by artificial intelligence.

I’ve been doing a lot of studies generating art with detailed text prompts using Disco Diffusion v4.1 on Google Colab.

When I discovered the artificial intelligence art generator, I was pretty blown away! I was immediately addicted to see what the outcomes would be.

The technology is better understood by computer scientists and programmers, but it uses PyTorch which is a framework built on top of the Python programming language.

The best way I can describe it is that it uses diffusion modeling which generates noise. From there, CLIP behaves like a teacher evaluating the output referencing a large library of images aka machine learning. Please tell me if I’m wrong.

To be honest… It’s not difficult to get interesting results that look like a masterpiece an artist spent a lot of time on. But, it’s not easy to get consistent controlled results you may envision.

The technology is also pretty intimidating coming from a traditional art background. But, I’ve decided to embrace it. If you can’t beat them, join them!

The images you see here are hand-picked, with minor post-processing and the results of a lot of trial and error. You may think some of these are strange (or maybe even interesting), but you should see some of the images I didn’t post!

Let me know if you have any questions.
